This is the official Lionel Centennial video series. This two-video set covers 100 years of Lionel train production.

Lionel trains have survived two World Wars, the Great Depression, changes in technology, and fads to become an American icon-a dream weaver for 20th Century America.

The story begins with Joshua Lionel Cowen's first train-a crude, wooden gondola made in 1900-and end with today's magnificent scale marvels. In between, you'll see all the classics, including the State Set, Blue Comet, Hudsons, streamliners, F-3's, GG-1's, Daylights, acessories and much more.

A spectacular two-hour tribute to a special toy that had provided 20th Century America with countless hours of thrills and fun.

Narrated by Tom Snyder.

DVD provides a dramatically improved picture and much better sound quality. Features bonus material not included in the VHS version: A Final Visit to the Lionel Factory segment, vintage Lionel commercials, and additional audio tracks with commentary by producers Tom McComas and Joseph Stachler on the making of this epic toy train video. Entire content is on one disc.
