The Great Train Story-DVD

Since 1941, four generations have been thrilled and delighted by the museum's impressive train exhibit. In 2002, an all new train exhibit was introduced. It was greeted with wild enthusiasm by both kids and grown-ups. The Great Train Story shows the importance of railroads today by focusing on four major functions -- intermodal transportation, passenger service, transporting grain, and moving raw materials such as coal to be used in the steel industry.

This panoramic journey between Chicago and Seattle is alive with 34 HO scale trains that traverse the Great Plains, Rocky Mountains, and the Cascades. Featuring over 1400 feet of track, amazing bridges, winding tunnels, Chicago's elevated line, and over 500 hand-built scale buildings, the Great Train Story is a fine example of the Museum's mission to educate and inspire the inventive genius in everyone.
