Travel to the top of America's most famous mountain by train as it climbs from 6,500 to 14,110 feet above sea level.

There are 1933 motion pictures of steam as well as new scenes of restored steam loco number 4 with its distinctive compound sound. Watch 60-year old motion pictures of steam locos pushing flat car plows into snow drifts 14,000 feet above sea level. Marvel at the railroad's first rotary plow and see the new rotary chew through the drifts. All 3 generations of the railroad's diesels are represented.

Start with 1930's motion pictures of railcar number 7, the railroad's first non-steam car. Watch power evolve through the 1940's GE diesels and coaches, the first Swiss 80 passenger rail cars and end with today's 216 passenger articulated giants.

Includes color footage of these newer trains being tested on the Arth-Rigi Bahn in Switzerland. The shop removes a diesel engine and the track crew changes out a tie...dealing with the intricacies of the rack rail.

You'll get three bonus productions. "All Aboard for Eureka" chronicles the railroad at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. "Scenic Railroad of the World" covers the world-famous White Pass and Yukon.
